Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu 2012 Tollywood Movie Review
Written By Unknown on Thursday 18 October 2012 | 20:42
Checkout Pawan Kalyan Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu Movie Review right here on Cinejocks. Pawan Kalyan’s CGTR has hit the screens worldwide on a grand scale and we bring you the CGTR movie review.
Story
Rambabu (Pawan Kalyan) is a mechanic and a responsible citizen, who fights against the odds in society by reacting to the news reports. He gets noticed by Ganga (Tamanna), working in regional news channel and persuades him in joining her team as journo. Rambabu accepts it and joins the TV Channel. He comes across opposition leader Jawahar Naidu(Kota Srinivasa Rao), who gives hard time to CM (Nasser) for making his son Rana Babu (Prakash Raj) taking the CM position. With few situations, the fight between the Rambabu and Rana Babu sets in and the rest is to be watched on-screens.
Performances
It’s Pawan Kalyan’s show all the way. His powerful dialogue delivery, comic timing, dances and fights are a treat to watch. Power Star’s dances in Melikal Thiruguthunte and expressions in Extraordinary are superb. Puri Jagan’s powerful dialogues worked out well especially the Telugu Talli episodes.
Tamanna is glamorous but her character is a bit loud and looks like she is overreacting in some scenes. However, the chemistry between Pawan Kalyan and Tamanna worked and the scenes were shaped up well.
Prakash Raj has done his usual best, Kota Srinivasa Rao is perfect, Gabriela irritates as TV Channel boss, Brahmanandam, Ali brings comic relief, Nasser, Tanikella Bharani are decent. Scarlet Wilson is good in the item song and added the needed glamour.
Technical Analysis
Cinematography by Shyam K Naidu is good and the grading, picture quality is good and colorful. Musical scores by Mani Sharma are good while the background score is an asset elevating the powerful scenes. Puri Jagannadh’s direction is okay while the dialogues had the needed essence. Screenplay could have better and racy in the first half. Editing is fine yet few scenes can be trimmed to make it much crispier.
Analysis
With Puri Jagannadh and Pawan Kalyan teaming up after long gap of 11 years, the expectations are naturally high and, CGTR releasing post the mega success of Gabbar Singh has even hiked the expectations. The idea behind the story with political backdrop and social responsibility credit has to be given to Pawan Kalyan. Pawan Kalyan characterization has been well-etched and his terrific on-screen presence can be felt through out the movie. Power Star’s powerful, emotional dialogues in the second half are an asset. While the first half lacks the racy screenplay unlike other Puri Jagan films, despite entertaining scenes and powerful dialogues, it is the second half of the film that raises the tempo and has turned crucial. Scenes like Brahmanandam, Pawan Kalyan delivering the news, Ali and Bramhi scenes, Pawan Kalyan dialogues about women are quite entertaining.
Mani Sharma has cleverly interwoven the background score that has elevated many powerful scenes. However, Prakash Raj’s character lacks intensity, Puri could have taken care in the role and the climax looked unconvincing with the added graphics. The pre-climax episodes, Rambabu-Ranababu confrontation scenes, Prakash Raj arrest scenes are few of the standout scenes of CGTR.
Final Verdict
A sincere attempt by Puri Jagannadh. Watch Pawan Kalyan’s terrific on-screen presence in Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu…

Charulatha 2012 Tollywood Movie Review
Written By Unknown on Friday 21 September 2012 | 07:55
Story
The story takes off showing the conjoined twins Charu and Latha who used to live in Vizag like one body and one soul until Ravi (Skanda) entered their lives. Ravi falls for Charu and this creates the differences between the two and finally their mother (Saranya) plans to separate their attached body through an operation and during this one among them(Latha) dies. However, the mystery begins when the dead twin seeks revenge on the other. Here come a couple of twists in the story unfolding the suspense elements.
Performance:
Priyamani’s performance as a Siamese twin is the highlight of the movie Charulatha, especially for the first time she has played a negative role. Priyamani as Charu and Latha, showed her best performance till date and has carried the film on her shoulders.
Debutant Skanda has done his part well, but is overlooked as Priyamani steals the show. Saranya Ponvanan and Seetha had done justice to their short roles while Ravi Shankar is brief.
Technical Analysis:
Debutant Ponkumaran has tried his best in remaking Thai horror ‘Alone’, with slight change in the script to get Indian nativity. Ponkumaran also gets the credit of making first Indian cinema on Siamese twin [conjoined twins] and grabbed out the best performance from Priyamani.
Cinematography by Panner Selvam is excellent and is one of the assets of Chaulatha, who has perfectly shot the conjoined portions of Priyamani which looked quite well. Music director Sundar C Babu has composed the music tunes that are not up to the mark, while the background scores are good.
Dwarkish Pictures have done a good attempt by buying the remake rights of ‘Alone’ and remaking it with Priyamani lavishly.
Analysis:
Till date we have many movies on twins and double roles, but Charulatha records the first movie on Conjoined twins in India. Directed by Ponkumaran, Charulatha has the award winning performance given by National award winning actress Priyamani.
Director Ponkumaran has come up with right blend of comedy, emotions and suspense in the first half with slow paced narration. Charulatha turns engaging only from the pre-interval scene but the execution could have been much thrilling with interesting elements. The climax has been abruptly ended.
On the other hand relationship between the sisters and sentiment scenes are heart touching and a couple of scenes like the ghost of Latha threatening Charu by hanging herself to the ceiling fan and the scene where Charu was shocked when the ghost tries to kill her while bathing are applaudable.
All in all Priyamani steals the show and it could have done wonders if packed with the fast paced and engrossing screenplay.
Final Verdict:
Charulatha is a decent attempt by makers. Priyamani excelled the show in the roles of Charu and Latha!!
Film: Charulatha
Starring: Priyamani, Skanda (Suraj), Seetha, Saranya Ponvannan
Director: Pon Kumaran
Producer: Ramesh Krishna
Banner: Sax Pictures
Music: Sundar C Babu
Charulatha Movie Rating: 2.75/5

Heroine 2012 Bollywood Movie Review
Story: A gritty tale, the story begins with Mahie Arora (kareena) who is a top league actress. Success and fame is what Mahie wants in the film industry. However, she is very impulsive, lacks emotional control and does anything once she loses her cool. This affects her relationship with her lover Aryan Khanna (Arjun Rampal) and also her career. As Mahie starts taking decisions which are quite a gamble she goes through various experiences in her life. Whether she achieved what she wanted to or not forms the rest of the story.
Presentation: The director has come up with a thought provoking storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was slow. The dialogues were normal, the script was average and the screenplay was balanced. Background score was effective but some tunes were copied and two songs were not that appealing. Cinematography was upto the mark. Editing was required at few places. Costumes were well designed while the art department was appealing. Kareena Kapoor shouldered the role very well and depicts the various facets very well. Arjun Rampal looks very worned out. Randeep Hooda was brief but good. Mugdha Godse was moderate. Govind Namdeo was good. Helen was apt. Ranvir Shorey was excellent. Divya Dutt was effective. The others did their bit as required and added value.
Conclusion: A film related to the film industry is always an exciting one for the cine industry folks but this time the journey of an actress has been shown well. While the first half goes about with the various ups and downs, the second half goes about with how certain decisions in life can change the fortunes of people. Overall, this is a film which has tried to showcase the other side of a heroine’s life. At the box office, this will be a commercial success if it was not for the drag.
Cinejocks verdict: Sensible and realistic, can be watched

Avunu 2012 Tollywood Movie Review
Story
A newly wed couple Mohini (Poorna) and Harsha (Harshavardhan Rane) settles in a house named Classic Homes. Right from then strange experiences and happenings take place in the house like a spirit stalking Mohini, and it wants to consummate a relationship. Meanwhile, Vicky, neighbors kid who can see and speak to the souls despite none believing him claims that the Captain Rao spirit is in Mohini’s house. How will Mohini be saved? Who is Captain Rao? Forms the crux of the story.
Performances
Poorna is the real asset of the film and she carried the entire film on her shoulders. Her expressions are outstanding in the movie.
Harshvardhan Rane is refreshing and has done justice to the role and Gayatri is convincing. Ravi Babu played crucial role to the story and he is impressive. Chalapathi Rao and Rajeshwari are okay. Rest of the cast did their bit required.
Technical Analysis
Technically Avunu stands out. Despite no songs, the background score scored by Sekhar Chandra is terrific enhancing the horror scenes creating the needed impact. Cinematography is amazing and the lighting effects need a mention and Ravi Babu’s direction speaks volumes on his creativity considering the fact that story revolves around two to three characters. The screenplay is refreshing and engaging. Dialogues are okay and editing is perfect. The run time of Avunu is definitely a plus for the movie.
Analysis
Director Ravi Babu yet again strikes with this medium budget suspense thriller Avunu. Most part of Avunu was shot in a house but the cinematography and the use of Static camera was amazing. The appreciable thing is there weren’t any songs which would have hindered the pace of the movie. The screenplay is engrossing and narration is at a rapid pace also maintaining the suspense elements. The twist in the second half is justifying while the climax is slightly predictable. Background score is an asset for the film adding the fear factor that keeps to glued to the screens. The story of Avunu is wafer thin and the engrossing screenplay has saved it. The climax could have been a bit convincing though. Nevertheless, Avunu is definitely a good watch for the horror/thriller film lovers while the entertainment movies seekers can skip it
Final Verdict
Avunu is definitely a worth watch for horror/thriller movie lovers.
Film: Avunu
Starring: Harshavardhan Rane,Poorna
Director: Ravi Babu
Producer: Ravi Babu, Suresh Babu,Prasad Potluri
Banner: Flying Frogs Banner
Music: Sekhar Babu
Avunu Movie Rating: 3.5/5

Avunu is a suspense thriller film: Hero Ravi Babu
Telugu filmmaker Ravi Babu says his upcoming film "Avunu" will not fall in the horror genre. "Avunu is a thriller, suspense film set within a small family with a good mix of scary and funny moments, but not a horror film," Ravi Babu said. The story of the film revolves around a family that begins to feel the presence of an unknown force in their house. "It is based on a real life incident that happened to actress Yami Gautam. She narrated the incident to me sometime back and I was so intrigued by it that I immediately decided to make it into a film," he further added.
The biggest highlight of the film will be the use of computer-generated imagery (CGI).
"Twenty-five minutes of CGI can be seen in the film. However, it's been so well executed that one can barely make out the difference," he said.
"Avunu" was wrapped up in about 50 days in Hyderabad, and was simultaneously shot in multiple languages. But the makers will not release the film in others language as of now.
Actress Poorna is playing the lead role in the film, while actor Harshavardhan Rane will be seen in an important role.
"Avunu" will release Sep 28 in Andhra Pradesh, and the following week in other states of the country.
The first look of the film created lot of hullabaloo in the industry.
"I wanted the film's poster to be unique and hence made one with an unusual design", Ravi Babu added.
